RPA/RPD & Enterprise Automation

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT) is seeking an Expert Database Architect to design and implement enterprise automation and data-processing solutions using RPA, RPD, or comparable enterprise automation technologies. The selected consultant will support workflow orchestration, data ingestion, transformation, system integration, data quality, and automation initiatives across complex enterprise environments. The consultant will analyze business processes, develop automation solutions, integrate enterprise systems, provide technical leadership, and support testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance. Responsibilities:- The selected consultant will perform, but not be limited to, the following activities: Analyze business processes and system workflows to identify opportunities for automation and optimization. Design, develop, and implement RPD/RPA-based automation solutions for data ingestion, transformation, and system integration. Build and maintain automated workflows and orchestration pipelines across enterprise databases, applications, storage systems, and APIs. Integrate RPD/RPA solutions with databases, APIs, web services, file systems, enterprise applications, and external systems. Design and implement automation controls including exception handling, validation, logging, monitoring, alerting, audit trails, recovery, and reconciliation. Develop and maintain data-processing solutions including ETL/ELT, data ingestion, data transformation, workflow orchestration, scheduling, and data-quality controls. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize automation processes for performance, reliability, and scalability. Implement error handling, retry mechanisms, logging, and recovery processes within automated workflows. Create processes to maintain data quality and high accessibility. Design and document all components of approved application solutions, including system integrations. Write readable and testable code using advanced analytical functions. Review and refactor existing code, perform performance tuning, conduct code reviews, and recommend improvements aligned with agency and business needs. Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and architecture teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards. Manage the build phase and ensure quality-assured code fulfills requirements and adheres to Enterprise Architecture standards. Support system testing, debugging, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of automation solutions across environments. Develop and maintain technical documentation for automation workflows, configurations, processes, and system integrations. Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, design reviews, and mentoring to cross-functional teams. Evaluate and recommend improvements to automation frameworks, tools, and implementation patterns. Provide database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving database-related problems.

84 months of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise automation solutions using RPA, RPD, or comparable enterprise automation technologies, including reusable workflows, components, and business processes. 72 months of experience designing and implementing automation controls, including exception handling, validation, logging, monitoring, alerting, audit trails, recovery, reconciliation, and operational support. 60 months of experience developing and maintaining data-processing solutions, including ETL/ELT, data ingestion, data transformation, workflow orchestration, scheduling, and data-quality controls. 84 months of experience analyzing business processes and translating business, functional, data, and system requirements into enterprise automation designs and technical solutions. 72 months of experience integrating enterprise automation solutions with databases, APIs, web services, file-based interfaces, enterprise applications, and external systems. 48 months of experience designing and working with enterprise databases and data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, transactional data structures, analytical data structures, and data warehouses. 36 months of experience providing technical leadership, architecture guidance, design reviews, and mentoring to cross-functional teams implementing enterprise automation and system-integration solutions within a large and complex organization. Experience working in environments involving large-scale users or systems, complex enterprise integrations, high-volume data processing, regulated/security-sensitive environments, or multi-divisional organizations.
