Mako Professionals is partnering with a public-sector organization to identify an experienced Crystal Reports Consultant to support reporting within an established Chameleon animal shelter management environment., The organization has strong day-to-day knowledge of Chameleon but is looking for a consultant with deeper reporting expertise who can assess, troubleshoot, modify, deploy, and maintain Crystal Reports connected to the system.
The consultant will initially focus on evaluating the existing reporting environment, correcting and enhancing current reports, and helping deploy reports that have already been developed but are not yet fully accessible to users. The engagement may also include developing new reports and providing ongoing reporting support as needs arise.
This is expected to begin as a part-time engagement of approximately 15 20 hours per week. Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess existing Crystal Reports within the Chameleon environment.
- Troubleshoot reports that are no longer producing the expected information.
- Review and validate report parameters, filters, formulas, and underlying reporting logic.
- Modify existing reports as Chameleon data, categories, subtypes, and operational requirements change.
- Enhance or consolidate reports where users currently need to run multiple reports to obtain the information they need.
- Support the deployment and configuration of approximately 5 6 existing reports that have been developed but are not yet fully available to users.
- Add, remove, modify, and maintain reports within the Chameleon reporting environment.
- Develop new Crystal Reports based on business and operational requirements.
- Work directly with business users to understand reporting needs and translate them into practical reporting solutions.
- Diagnose whether reporting issues can be resolved through modifications to existing reports or require report redesign.
- Provide ongoing, as-needed Crystal Reports support and troubleshooting.
- Advise the organization on Chameleon reporting functionality, administration, and reporting best practices where appropriate.
- Coordinate with internal IT resources when remote access or system-level support is required.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Crystal Reports.
- Experience developing, modifying, troubleshooting, and maintaining existing Crystal Reports.
- Strong understanding of report parameters, filters, formulas, data relationships, and reporting logic.
- Ability to troubleshoot existing reports and identify the root cause of inaccurate or incomplete reporting results.
- Experience deploying or publishing Crystal Reports for use across multiple users or workstations.
- Experience taking ownership of an existing reporting environment and working with reports developed by other resources.
- Ability to gather requirements directly from business users and translate operational needs into reporting solutions.
- Ability to work independently in a part-time consulting environment.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with Chameleon animal shelter management software.
- Hands-on experience developing or supporting Crystal Reports within Chameleon.
- Chameleon system administration or reporting administration experience.
- Experience working within a reporting environment where documentation or institutional knowledge may be limited.
- Previous experience supporting public-sector, municipal, county, or animal-services organizations.
