Job description

We are looking for an experienced Platform automation engineer to join a specialist automation team on a high-impact transformation programme. The focus is on replacing manual operational workloads with scalable automation solutions, enabling engineering teams to spend less time on repetitive support activities and more time delivering complex technical requirements

This is an opportunity to play a key role in moving legacy operational processes to modern automated workflows, leveraging scripting, cloud infrastructure, containers, and AI-driven automation., * Identify and automate manual, repetitive operational processes currently handled by a large operations team

  • Design and implement solutions for legacy data export/import processes across multiple database platforms
  • Build scalable automation frameworks that can be reused across multiple business functions
  • Deploy and manage automation solutions on virtualised and cloud-based environments
  • Automate SFTP provisioning and scripting, firewall changes, security configurations, and integration workflows
  • Automate JBoss installations, database scripts for reboots, initial load fixes, AKS upgrades, environment setups and AI automations.
  • Create robust scheduling and orchestration solutions for business-critical automated workloads by working closely with a small team of automation specialists to deliver a unified automation strategy
  • Produce clear documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer materials

Requirements

  • Proven track record of moving legacy operational workloads to automated solutions
  • Demonstrable expertise delivering automation initiatives with measurable business outcomes
  • Strong scripting capabilities
  • Experience automating data movement, integrations, ETL workflows, APIs, SFTP and system connectivity
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments
  • Strong experience working with Azure Virtual Machines (Azure VMs)
  • Deployment and management of workloads within containerised environments using Kubernetes
  • Experience implementing and managing enterprise scheduling solutions

If you can show proven ability in replacing legacy manual processes with automation expertise, have experience working with Azure VMs, Kubernetes deployments, and scheduling/orchestration tools, and enjoy building automation that creates measurable business impact, we’d like to hear from you.
