Job description

  • Design, simulate, analyze, and prototype RF/Microwave oscillators, including OCXOs.
  • Apply RF synthesis and simulation tools to optimize phase noise, g-sense, performance, and cost.
  • Lead oscillator design and development projects from concept through production.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, environmental, and regulatory compliance analysis.
  • Estimate material, labor, testing, development costs, and project lead times.
  • Support prototype builds and provide technical guidance to engineering technicians and assemblers.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop processes for new products.
  • Support material procurement and provide project status updates.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews, project kickoffs, and pre-production meetings.
  • Provide engineering support during product transition to manufacturing and for existing products.
  • Troubleshoot component obsolescence, quality, reliability, and performance issues.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less-experienced engineers and technicians.
  • Stay current with RF/Microwave technology and identify opportunities for new product development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of RF/Microwave industry experience with oscillator design.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/MSEE) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of RF/Microwave oscillator design, including resonator selection, oscillator optimization, amplification, DC regulation, and RF/digital/analog layout.
  • Experience with ultra-low phase noise and low g-sense OCXO designs.
  • Proficiency with RF/Microwave simulation and analysis tools such as AWR Microwave Office or Keysight PathWave/Genesys.
  • Strong hands-on laboratory and engineering bench skills.
  • Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of avionics, military communications, radio, or radar architectures is a plus.
  • Ability to work with ITAR-controlled data without a license, as required.
