Job description
TENAX Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer to support the MQ-9 Enterprise Centralized Network Operations Center (C-NOC) at Creech Air Force Base, Nevada .
This is a hands-on engineering position supporting the enterprise network infrastructure behind global MQ-9 Reaper operations . You’ll work with routing, switching, encrypted transport, SATCOM, multicast/video distribution, cybersecurity, and mission-critical network architectures across multiple classified and unclassified environments.
The Network Engineer provides advanced engineering and Tier 3 troubleshooting support for infrastructure enabling aircraft command and control, ISR data dissemination, secure communications, and enterprise connectivity.
This position is ideal for an experienced network professional who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, troubleshooting complex environments, and working directly with engineers, military personnel, Government customers, and geographically dispersed support teams.
What You’ll Work With
- Cisco enterprise routing and switching
- OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, and advanced routing architectures
- Multicast and ISR video transport networks
- SATCOM and long-haul communications
- HAIPE / TACLANE encrypted transport
- Firewalls and network security technologies
- Boundary and cross-domain architectures
- Juniper CTP transport systems
- Classified and unclassified DoD networks
- Enterprise cybersecurity and compliance technologies, Network Engineering
- Design, implement, configure, and optimize enterprise network solutions supporting MQ-9 operations.
- Engineer and maintain routing environments utilizing OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, and redundancy protocols .
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and network transport devices .
- Support multicast, video transport, and ISR dissemination architectures.
- Analyze network performance, identify deficiencies, and recommend improvements to reliability, resiliency, and performance.
- Support network architecture development, configuration changes, and capability integrations.
- Develop and validate technical solutions before implementation in operational environments.
Advanced Troubleshooting
- Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex network and connectivity issues.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts during mission-impacting outages and degraded operations.
- Analyze routing, switching, transport, firewall, multicast, and connectivity problems across complex network environments.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for recurring or complex technical issues.
- Coordinate troubleshooting with Air Force organizations, geographically dispersed sites, vendors, engineers, and mission partners.
- Provide technical guidance and escalation support to site-level Network Administrators and Systems Administrators.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Support RMF, ATO, STIG, vulnerability remediation, and cybersecurity sustainment activities.
- Implement and validate network security configuration baselines.
- Support vulnerability identification, remediation, and mitigation activities.
- Ensure network configurations comply with applicable DoD cybersecurity and technical requirements.
- Support enterprise cybersecurity initiatives and technology modernization efforts.
Enterprise Modernization
- Evaluate emerging technologies and new mission requirements.
- Support network infrastructure upgrades, technology refreshes, and capability integrations.
- Develop and maintain enterprise network diagrams, configurations, technical documentation, and engineering standards.
- Provide technical recommendations to improve network performance, security, availability, resiliency, and scalability .
- Assist with testing and implementation of new enterprise network capabilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of network engineering, network administration, or related enterprise networking experience .
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching .
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting OSPF, BGP, VLANs, routing protocols, and enterprise IP networks .
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience troubleshooting complex network connectivity and performance issues.
- Ability to independently analyze technical problems and develop solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, technical personnel, military leadership, and Government customers.
- Ability to work effectively in a mission-focused operational environment.
Clearance & Certification Requirements
Candidates must meet both requirements to be considered:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Current CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or certifications in one or more of the following are highly desirable:
- CCNA or CCNP Enterprise
- Advanced Cisco routing and switching
- Multicast routing
- ISR or video transport networks
- Juniper networking technologies
- Palo Alto or other enterprise firewalls
- Juniper CTP
- SATCOM or long-haul communications
- HAIPE / TACLANE encrypted transport
- Network architecture and design
- Network monitoring and performance analysis
- RMF / ATO processes
- STIG implementation and remediation
- DoD classified networks
- Military communications systems
- ISR, aviation, or MQ-9 environments
Prior MQ-9 experience is beneficial but not required .
