Job description
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Process Control Network and Windows System Administrator on behalf of our client in New Orleans, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise in the administration, configuration, security, and support of systems within Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Process Control Networks (PCN). This role will support network and Windows infrastructure across onshore and offshore environments, with a strong focus on cybersecurity controls, system availability, and operational support. Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain PCN cybersecurity controls, including patching, antivirus, backup/restore, and asset inventory.
- Provide network, server, workstation, and break/fix support for PCN environments.
- Maintain asset inventories, network diagrams, system documentation, and data-interface information.
- Design and implement secure communication channels and data-transfer solutions.
- Develop and maintain site-specific procedures supporting PCN security compliance.
- Monitor security controls and identify, document, and address non-compliance.
- Conduct site visits to production facilities for remediation and compliance activities.
- Design, implement, and review firewall rules according to cybersecurity best practices.
- Monitor servers, networks, and communication equipment using tools such as SolarWinds and Splunk.
- Maintain secure backups of server and network-device configurations.
- Review security logs, investigate potential intrusions, and escalate security incidents as required.
- Implement change-management and testing procedures for network and endpoint security.
- Patch and update network-device firmware.
- Provide after-hours/on-call support and respond to emergency situations when required.
- Travel to offshore platforms approximately 8 times per year, typically for 3 5 days per trip.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of networking and Windows systems administration experience.
- Minimum 3 years of IT security experience within Industrial Control Systems (ICS)/Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Strong experience with Active Directory, Windows operating systems, servers, and PC maintenance.
- Hands-on experience configuring network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Experience administering Wintel and Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial cybersecurity standards and practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite at least 3 days per week in New Orleans.
- Ability to provide after-hours/on-call support when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Certifications & Additional Requirements
- GICSP certification is preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Willingness and ability to travel to offshore facilities.
- Must comply with applicable health, safety, security, and environmental requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting cybersecurity in offshore, energy, oil & gas, or industrial environments.
- Experience with security monitoring and logging platforms such as Splunk and SolarWinds.
- Experience with network security, firewall administration, vulnerability management, and endpoint security.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems and PCN architecture.
Benefits & conditions
- $50,000-60,000 per year
