Job description

A leading oil and gas trading business is seeking an ambitious Front Office Trading Analyst to join its team. In this role, you will work closely with Traders, Market Analysts, and IT, building and enhancing the data and analytical infrastructure that directly supports front-office decision-making.

You will contribute to a range of high-impact initiatives, including developing predictive models, building scalable data platforms, improving database performance and security, and delivering dashboards and tools that provide actionable market insights.

This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to trading strategy and commercial outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Strong DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server and advanced SQL querying skills
  • Solid understanding of data engineering, ETL processes, and database design
  • Experience building and maintaining data warehouses or data lakes (e.g., Snowflake)
  • Experience developing analytical or forecasting models
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience working in a Front Office, trading, or financial services environment preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
