Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning TypeScript Large Language Models

Job description

Location: Shoreditch, London

About the Opportunity

A high-growth AI-first law firm is looking to transform the UK conveyancing market, starting with the legal process behind every property transaction. Currently, conveyancing is slow, opaque and unreliable, with one in three transactions falling through and complaints significantly higher than in other legal sectors. Many firms still rely on outdated manual processes.

This business aims to disrupt a £2.5 billion market by combining deep domain expertise with cutting-edge AI technology, with ambitions to expand into a full-service, AI-powered law firm with global reach.

The Role

The firm is seeking a Staff Product Engineer to join as an early member of a small, high-calibre engineering team. This is a product-first role: from day one, the engineer will help shape product direction, speak directly with users, define ambiguous requirements and ship features to production quickly. The team values engineers who take ownership of outcomes and think beyond tickets.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in early-stage startups, influencing product strategy
  • User-problem focused, not purely technical solution-oriented
  • Experience scaling TypeScript codebases
  • Comfortable building AI agents or LLM-powered systems beyond simple prompting
  • High attention to detail and pride in engineering craft
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving quickly
  • Academic or applied experience in machine learning
  • Experience bridging research and production systems

What’s on Offer

  • £150,000 depending on experience
  • Meaningful early-stage equity
  • Comprehensive private medical cover including dental and optical
