Job description

About the role

If you enjoy solving difficult technical problems and building software that has real-world impact, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re growing our engineering teams and recruiting Software Developers at all experience levels to help tackle some of the most interesting challenges in cyber security. Whether you’re designing intuitive user interfaces, developing cloud-native applications, building scalable backend services, processing large volumes of data, or working close to the operating system, you’ll be creating technology that protects critical systems and makes a genuine difference.

You’ll work closely with customers, stakeholders and experienced engineers to turn complex problems into elegant solutions, while helping shape the technology, architecture and direction of our products. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to learn new skills, deepen your expertise, and grow your career in a collaborative environment that values curiosity, innovation and continuous learning.

Note: This role requires eligibility for UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. As a result, applicants must typically be sole British citizens and have lived in the UK continuously for the previous 10 years, subject to UK Government vetting requirements.

What you’ll be doing

Above all, we’re looking for engineers who are naturally curious, enjoy solving difficult problems, and are excited by the opportunity to work across multiple areas of software engineering. You don’t need to tick every box. If you’re passionate about technology, enjoy learning, and have experience in some of the technologies or disciplines we’ve described, we encourage you to apply. We’re interested in people with strong fundamentals, an appetite for solving challenging problems, and the ambition to continually develop their skills. If you’re equally excited by the prospect of building a polished user interface, designing backend services, analysing system performance, working with cloud-native platforms, or exploring how software works under the hood, you’ll fit right in.

Examples of what we expect from our developers include:

Software development

  • Develop resilient, well tested code
  • Perform code reviews & work with team members to ensure code quality standards are met
  • Keep up to date with the latest best practices

Frontend Development

  • Create powerful, flexible user interfaces for a technical user base
  • Engage with end users to understand their needs and design user interfaces

Backend Development

  • Ensure the platform meets performance, availability, and reliability SLAs
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and risks in production environments.
  • Maintain and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to detect and prevent incidents.

Automation and Efficiency

  • Build and maintain tools to automate routine tasks, such as deployments, scaling, and failover.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements for faster and more reliable software delivery.

Team

  • Identify and contribute to the improvement of inefficient ways of working
  • Actively contribute and engage in knowledge sharing activities

Essential Skills / Experience

If you have experience in one or more of these areas, we’d encourage you to apply:

  • Software Development, Programming or Scripting
  • Software Testing and Dev Ops
  • Using collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Source code management using Git-based platforms such as GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket
  • Experience working within Agile software development teams
  • Experience of test and infrastructure automation using associated frameworks

Desirable Skills / Experience

We’d particularly love to hear from candidates interested in one or more of the following:

  • Mobile Development
  • Reverse engineering
  • Vulnerability research
  • Software security
  • Distributed and resilient data processing systems
  • High-performance computing

  • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Objective-C
  • Python
  • Scala

We’re not looking for expertise in every language listed above. Strong software engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and a willingness to learn are more important than experience with any specific technology. If you’ve worked extensively with one or more of these languages and are excited to expand your skillset, we’d love to hear from you.

Platforms & Operating Systems:

  • Linux
  • Windows
  • macOS, iOS
  • Kubernetes
