Job description

Overview

CloudNet Technologies Limited is looking for highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Operations Engineers to join our growing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects, blending core IT infrastructure management with modern DevOps automation and cloud technologies. As a vital part of our team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our cloud environments, helping to shape robust and scalable systems for our clients.

Salary (Depending on Experience): £36,000 to £38,000 per annum

Note: Preference will be given to candidates from within the country. However, applicants from outside the UK are also welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to clarify project objectives, discuss the cloud platforms, software, and technology to be used, and establish a project timetable and budgetary requirements.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage secure and scalable servers, virtual machines, and hosting environments, primarily on Microsoft Azure.
  • Research industry trends, consider previous related infrastructure projects, and compare costs associated with different cloud solutions.
  • Prepare technical diagrams, system configurations, and mock-ups to present to clients and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Work with various teams to ensure the integration of IT operations with development lifecycles and project timelines.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation and instructions to realise the infrastructure vision and oversee the implementation of final solutions.
  • Proactively monitor system performance, security, and availability to guarantee uptime and seamless business continuity.
  • Implement and manage DevOps automation for CI/CD, backups, and other operational tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure, software, and networking.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Candidates possess a degree in a relevant subject, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Network Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role (e.g., Systems Administrator, Cloud Engineer, IT Support Engineer) is highly important.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux Server administration, and strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude, with a keen eye for detail and an innovative mindset.
  • Previous experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or IT consultancy environment.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM/Bicep.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles, compliance standards, and data protection.
