Job description

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Ruby Developer to join our development team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our web applications and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust Ruby applications
  • Build APIs and back-end components for web and mobile applications
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security
  • Integrate data storage solutions (SQL and NoSQL databases)
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and product managers
  • Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing applications

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails (RoR) framework
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP)
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs
  • Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
  • Understanding of automated testing and test-driven development (TDD)
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Heroku)
  • Knowledge of background job processing (Sidekiq, Resque, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools
  • Contribution to open-source Ruby projects or active GitHub portfolio
