Job description

We’re supporting a confidential UK public-sector programme and are looking for experienced Senior Digital Project Managers to join a specialist delivery environment. This is an excellent opportunity for ex-military professionals who have transitioned into project and programme delivery, particularly those with experience managing complex technology, infrastructure, capability or transformation projects in demanding operational environments. The opportunity You’ll take ownership of the delivery of one or more significant digital projects, working across technical and business teams to ensure projects achieve their intended outcomes. The role will involve: Leading projects from definition through to delivery and transition. Managing scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks and dependencies. Establishing effective project controls and maintaining clear delivery plans. Working closely with senior stakeholders, sponsors, suppliers and delivery teams. Providing clear reporting to support governance and informed decision-making. Managing commercial and supplier relationships to ensure delivery against agreed commitments. Supporting assurance activity and implementing recommendations. Managing change throughout the project lifecycle. Providing leadership, guidance and support to project teams. Working across organisational boundaries to bring together technical, operational and business stakeholders. You’ll be operating in an environment where strong project discipline, professional credibility and the ability to make progress through complexity are highly valued.

Requirements

We’re interested in experienced project professionals who can demonstrate: Strong experience delivering digital or technology-led projects/programmes. Proven ability to manage delivery against time, cost, quality and scope. Experience leading project teams and coordinating multidisciplinary resources. Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills. Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies and project governance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear project documentation and business cases. A recognised project management qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience. The confidence and credibility to work effectively with senior stakeholders across organisational boundaries. Experience with Agile, PRINCE2, ITIL or other recognised delivery methodologies would be advantageous, as would commercial awareness and experience of implementing process or organisational change. Your military background may be highly relevant if you have managed: Complex technical or digital projects. Capability development or transformation programmes. Major infrastructure or systems implementation. Multi-disciplinary teams and external suppliers. High-value resources, budgets and competing priorities. Projects operating within strict governance, assurance or regulatory frameworks. The ability to bring structure to complex situations, communicate effectively with different stakeholders and maintain delivery focus under pressure can translate extremely well into this environment.
