Job description
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliable delivery and deployment of our software systems to customer environments. You will ensure that deployments are automated, resilient, and adaptable to diverse on-premise and hybrid infrastructures. Operating at the intersection of infrastructure, software, and customer environments, you will play a key role in enabling smooth commissioning, stable operations, and continuous improvement of our deployment processes.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities
- Own and execute end-to-end deployments across on-premise and hybrid environments, including software rollout, commissioning, and go-live support
- Configure and validate infrastructure (compute, storage, clusters, networking, mTLS) to ensure production readiness
- Troubleshoot and resolve deployment and infrastructure issues; support Customer Success team during escalations
- Develop and maintain deployment automation, runbooks, and standardized procedures
- Implement automated rollback, recovery workflows, and improve CI/CD-driven deployment processes
- Monitor system health and capacity; manage lifecycle activities such as patching, upgrades, and maintenance
- Implement and test backup and recovery strategies, ensuring compliance with recovery objectives
- Coordinate with customer IT and internal teams on network, security, and hardware integration requirements
- Document site-specific configurations and feed insights back to improve architecture, tooling, and deployment processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement by optimizing workflows and supporting internal test environments
Requirements
- Strong experience with Linux systems administration and container runtimes (Docker, Docker Compose)
- Hands-on experience deploying and operating Kubernetes-based systems in production
- Solid knowledge of networking (VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, OT/IT environments)
- Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) and version control (Git)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex environments
- Experience with certificate management (PKI)
Nice to haves
- Experience with air-gapped or restricted-network deployments
- Familiarity with Helm and GitOps tools (e.g., ArgoCD, FluxCD)
- Knowledge of industrial networks and OT/IT convergence
- Experience with Debian/Linux packaging
- Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, LPIC, CKA)
