Data Engineer

We are looking for a Data Engineer to support client initiatives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by building dependable data solutions that enable reporting, analytics, and operational insight. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and enjoys working across data engineering and business intelligence functions in modern analytics environments. The role focuses on creating scalable data flows, strengthening data accessibility, and partnering with stakeholders to turn business needs into practical technical outcomes., Create and maintain robust data pipelines that move and transform information across multiple systems and platforms. Develop efficient database objects, optimize query performance, and structure data models to support analytics and reporting needs. Connect and consolidate data from business applications, databases, APIs, and cloud-based environments. Produce dashboards and reporting tools using Power BI or comparable visualization technologies for business users. Help manage and enhance data warehouse, data lake, and cloud data platform ecosystems. Improve the consistency, performance, and usability of data assets through monitoring and quality-focused practices. Collaborate with technical teams and business partners to define reporting requirements and deliver scalable data solutions. Investigate and resolve issues affecting data integrations, processing workflows, and reporting outputs.

At least 2 years of experience in data engineering, BI development, analytics engineering, or a closely related discipline. Strong hands-on SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and performance tuning. Experience with Python or another programming language used for data processing and automation. Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and visualization tools. Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration approaches across varied source systems. Understanding of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data governance practices. Experience with technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop, Apache Kafka, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or similar platforms is highly valued., All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
