Job description

  • Analyse electricity, heating and cooling consumption, load profiles, tariffs, generation assets and site infrastructure.
  • Develop integrated energy concepts combining PV, BESS, heat pumps, heating & cooling, thermal storage, EV charging and energy management systems.
  • Model energy flows at hourly or sub-hourly resolution.Optimise asset sizing, dispatch and interaction across multiple technologies.
  • Assess peak loads, self-consumption, grid constraints, flexibility and electrification potential.
  • Build and improve analytical and optimisation models using the enshift platform, Python and other relevant tools.
  • Develop scenario, sensitivity and optimisation analyses for complex single-site and multi-site customers.
  • Challenge input assumptions and identify the key technical and economic drivers of each solution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in energy analytics, energy engineering, optimisation, consulting or a related field.
  • MSc, PhD or equivalent degree in Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Strong understanding of integrated energy systems, electrification and sector coupling.
  • Practical experience with several of the following technologies: solar PV, BESS, heat pumps, heating & cooling, thermal storage, EV charging and energy management systems.
  • Strong quantitative skills and experience analysing large time-series datasets, energy consumption and load profiles.
  • Strong Python skills or equivalent programming/modelling experience, combined with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Ability to develop techno-economic models and commercial business cases, including CAPEX, OPEX, NPV, IRR and sensitivity analysis.
  • Ability to work independently on complex analytical problems and translate results into clear technical and commercial recommendations.
  • Fluent German and strong English.

Strong advantages: experience with energy-system optimisation, MILP, Pyomo, Gurobi, MATLAB or similar tools; BESS dispatch and flexibility markets; German electricity tariffs and grid charges; PPAs, energy contracting or Energy-as-a-Service models; and B2B/B2G energy infrastructure projects.

Benefits & conditions

  • Impact & Ownership: Work on real energy projects with measurable impact and take responsibility for challenging solutions and your own topics from day one.
  • Flexible Working: Benefit from flexible working hours and a hybrid working model that supports a healthy work-life balance.
  • Development & Opportunity to Shape: Bring in your expertise, continue developing professionally, and actively contribute to how we improve our energy solutions, tools and processes.
  • Dynamic Environment: Benefit from short decision-making paths, direct collaboration across different functions, and the opportunity to turn ideas into action quickly.
