Job description

North Point Technology is looking to hire a User Engagement Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a geospatial intelligence program serving Intelligence Community mission partners. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI and a Polygraph. The successful candidate will serve as the bridge between mission users and technical development teams, ensuring that geospatial and intelligence solutions are intuitive, effective, and aligned with operational requirements. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on mission-critical capabilities used by intelligence professionals., The User Engagement Engineer SME will lead the development and execution of user engagement strategies designed to drive adoption and effectiveness of geospatial intelligence solutions. This includes partnering with customer stakeholders, mission owners, system engineers, and product managers to understand user requirements, workflows, and pain points, and translating those needs into actionable system improvements. The role involves designing and delivering user training, workshops, and informational sessions tailored to audiences ranging from operational personnel to senior leadership. The engineer will coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and operational evaluations, gather and analyze user feedback to inform feature development and optimization, and identify usability issues with recommended enhancements based on mission priorities. The position also involves supporting Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, user story development, and acceptance testing; tracking user engagement metrics and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs); and assisting in the creation of user documentation, FAQs, and other support materials for geospatial intelligence systems.

Requirements

  • User engagement, user adoption strategy development, and stakeholder support within complex technical environments
  • Knowledge of geospatial intelligence systems, mapping tools, and geospatial data
  • User training design and delivery across diverse audience levels, including operational personnel and executive leadership
  • User feedback collection and analysis to drive system improvements and new feature development
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination and operational evaluation support
  • Agile methodology participation including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and user story development
  • Proficiency with program management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Creation of user documentation, FAQs, and support materials for technical systems
  • User engagement metrics tracking and KPI reporting

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Human-Centered Design (HCD), User Experience (UX), or Design Thinking methodologies
  • Geospatial tools such as ArcGIS, Google Earth, or MapInfo
  • Development of Computer Based Training (CBT) modules
  • All-source geospatial analysis and reporting
  • Cloud technologies, big data analytics, and artificial intelligence in geospatial intelligence contexts
  • Agile, SAFe, or other iterative development and management frameworks
  • Enterprise architecture and acquisition framework knowledge within an Intelligence Community environment
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale engineering initiatives within an Intelligence Community environment, * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geospatial Science, Information Technology, or related field; or Master’s degree in a related field
  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI and a Polygraph
  • U.S. citizenship required
