Software Engineer, Platform Engineering

A growing, technology-driven organization in the insurance industry is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Platform Engineering to serve as the primary Platform Engineering leader and technical anchor for its U.S.-based engineering teams. This highly visible role sits at the intersection of software development, cloud infrastructure, developer experience, and artificial intelligence. The successful candidate will bridge global platform initiatives with local engineering needs while helping shape the future of software delivery through an Agentic (AI-powered) Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This is an opportunity to work across cloud infrastructure, platform services, developer tooling, and AI-driven engineering innovation in a fast-paced, cloud-native environment., * Help define and execute the strategy for an Agentic (AI-based) Software Development Life Cycle

• Evaluate and implement AI solutions that enhance software design, development, testing, deployment, and operational workflows
• Partner with engineering teams to understand development challenges and translate them into platform capabilities
• Design and implement scalable infrastructure, development tooling, CI/CD capabilities, and automation frameworks
• Collaborate with global Platform Engineering teams to align priorities, standards, and technical direction
• Champion engineering excellence, operational reliability, and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle
• Research and adopt emerging technologies that create measurable business impact and improve platform capabilities

• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer in a cloud-native, fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven track record of initiating, designing, implementing, and leading complex technical projects
• Strong programming expertise in at least one of the following: Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Bash
• Experience designing and delivering scalable software solutions and developer platforms
• Strong understanding of software architecture, engineering best practices, and SDLC methodologies
• Experience improving developer workflows, productivity, and overall developer experience

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience building or supporting Platform Engineering organizations and Internal Developer Platforms
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools, AI agents, LLMs, and software engineering automation
• CI/CD expertise, including hands-on experience with Jenkins pipelines and deployment automation
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and tooling
• Experience with Kubernetes, containerized environments, and cloud-native architectures
