Job description

Senior Java Developer / Senior Software Engineer needed for real-time streaming and cloud-native service delivery using Java, Apache Flink, Kafka/MSK, Spring Boot, AWS Managed Service for Flink, AWS MSK, GraphQL, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, schema management, observability, and production support patterns., * Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java-based Apache Flink streaming applications.

  • Build Kafka/MSK event-driven pipelines using topics, partitions, consumer groups, schema registry, and event-driven design patterns.
  • Develop Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, and GraphQL APIs for downstream application integration.
  • Implement scalable, fault-tolerant, observable streaming applications using Flink state, checkpointing, and recovery patterns.
  • Deploy and monitor services in cloud-native environments using CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS MSF/MSK, and observability tooling.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, performance tuning, code reviews, and production-readiness planning.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, QA, DevOps, and client stakeholders to deliver reliable streaming and API services.

Requirements

  • Java Engineering - 7+ years professional Java development, including recent hands-on Java 8+ or Java 11+ work.
  • Streaming Applications - 3+ years building production or near-production streaming applications using Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, Spark Streaming, or equivalent.
  • Apache Flink - Hands-on Flink DataStream API, state management, checkpointing, watermarks/windows, fault tolerance, and deployment patterns.
  • Kafka / MSK - Hands-on topics, partitions, consumer groups, schema registry, producers/consumers, replay, and event-driven architecture.
  • Spring Boot / APIs - Production Spring Boot microservices plus REST or GraphQL API development.
  • Cloud deployment - Experience deploying services to AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, or comparable cloud-native platforms; AWS MSF/MSK preferred.
  • Serialization/schema - Experience with Avro, Protobuf, JSON, schema evolution, or schema registry.
  • DevOps - Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, code review, source control, and deployment automation.
  • Observability - Observability Experience with logs, metrics, dashboards, alerting, traces, and production incident troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills

  • AWS Managed Service for Apache Flink / AWS MSF.
  • AWS MSK.
  • GraphQL / Apollo GraphQL.
  • Flink SQL.
  • Kafka Streams or other stream-processing frameworks.
  • Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or equivalent observability tools.
  • Security best practices for APIs, streaming, and cloud-native services.
  • SaaS or multi-tenant architecture.
  • High-volume, low-latency operational data systems.
