Job description

  • Contribute to System Engineering activities supporting the program, including system architecture, design, integration, and testing

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation of Ground Integration, ensuring seamless communication between system components

  • Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definitions to translate customer needs into requirements as well as hardware and software specifications

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and test engineers, to ensure system requirements are met

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, interface control documents, and test plans

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technical discipline, or a closely related field - or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle (such as MBSE, integration, test, design, requirements, etc.)
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills

  • 2+ years of experience performing Systems Engineering activities in the aerospace or related industry, with a focus on ground segments or satellite communications systems
  • 2+ years of experience with IBM Rational DOORS (or equivalent requirements database)
  • 3+ years of experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (CAMEO)
  • Experience in agile development process, roles, and rhythms (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to an audience with varied technical backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to work in self-directed manner, work independently, and leverage best practices
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
