Job description
As a Junior Cloud Support Engineer, you will have the opportunity to grow your technical skills as a member of the Cloud Operations Team for the NAVSEA Bluewater Cloud. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to resolve technical issues and improve the overall user experience. This role offers an entry-point into cloud service management, incident response, and cross-platform technical expertise., * Provide platform help desk support by managing the full lifecycle of GOV Cloud IT service requests and operational tasks in alignment with ITSM processes
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Knowledge Base (KB) documentation by identifying trends in recurring service requests to improve resolution efficiency
- Monitor cloud environments for security threats and system outages, supporting timely incident identification, escalation, and resolution
- Troubleshoot and maintain infrastructure across multi-cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Recommend and implement tools, process improvements, and automation to enhance the quality and responsiveness of cloud support operations
- Support disaster recovery planning, exercises, and training efforts to ensure system resilience and continuous availability
- Evaluate emerging DoD, DoN, and commercial technologies for potential integration into program environments
- Must be available to work West Coast hours to align with our primary support window of 9:00 AM to 5:00PM PST
Requirements
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer oriented Junior Cloud Support Engineer to join our team. This is a remote position., * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related STEM discipline, or an Associate’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- 2+ years of experience in AWS, cloud technologies, or a related technical field.
- An active CompTIA Security+ certification or a higher-level DoD-approved security certification
- An active AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with an ITSM platform such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira
- Multi-Cloud experience within Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or Oracle
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) based architecture
- Experience with Git, GitHub, and Markdown
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible
- Associate level certification or higher in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen and have an active Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
