Job description
- Actively engage and collaborate with prototype engineers to support rapid design and manufacture of development hardware.
- Support engineering design, development, fabrication/assembly, and testing of development hardware for flight vehicles, propulsion systems, avionics/electronics, ground support equipment, complex composite components, etc.
- Employ hands-on technical ability in equipment operation, trouble-shooting, testing and data collection.
- Apply technical expertise, hands on ability, and written communication skills to bridge gaps across various technical teams.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to technicians and fabricators, and consultation/collaboration with technical teams.
- Engage in the prototyping process with internal customers, including challenging requirements and providing first-hand insights as you work with the hardware.
- Hands-on contribution to manufacturing and development efforts, using a wide variety of manufacturing technologies.
- Utilize CNC & manual equipment to support product development efforts, as required.

Requirements
This is a hands-on role which requires strong communication, technical fundamentals, and ability to make products. Members on this team are expected to operate with a rapid iterative development mindset., * Exemplary technical skills as well as tactical technical expertise related to specific discipline(s) of engineering or technology.
- 8+ years in manufacturing environment for complex products, such as: aerostructure, space systems, aerospace, life support systems.
- Able to take on challenges with incomplete information and pivot to drive progress.
- Work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Eager to jump in and manufacture as the need arises.
- Experience with design for manufacturing, CNC machining techniques, tool selection, work-holding, and equipment.
- Demonstrated success in constantly evolving environment.
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing
- Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Highly customer focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Must be physically able to:
- Support manufacturing and fabrication floor activities.
- Climb stairs and work in small areas.
- Lift and carry 40 lbs.
Desired:
- Experience in rapid development environment.
- Experience in an aerospace manufacturing facility preferred.
- Experience in Product Development.
- Tooling and fixture design experience.
- Hands-on machining experience and/or CNC programming familiarity.
- Broad experience in manufacturing: welding, assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning, non-destructive testing, leak testing, fabrication, machining, etc.
- Experience with Siemens NX (Designcenter)
