Job description

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support the development and system integration of autonomous hauling solutions. The role will work closely with the System Integration Lead and cross-functional engineering teams to design, evaluate, troubleshoot, and deliver onboard autonomy technologies for vehicle-level systems., * Contribute to onboard system architecture, designs, and technical decisions for autonomous vehicle systems.

  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend potential technical solutions based on system requirements.
  • Analyze the value, risk, feasibility, and tradeoffs associated with proposed changes.
  • Decompose system requirements and solutions into actionable engineering work items.
  • Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve system-level technical issues.
  • Design electronic and network architectures supporting autonomy technology across hauling products.
  • Develop and maintain technical design documentation.
  • Coordinate hardware availability and dependencies across component, development, and validation teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering SMEs and process partners to identify and select effective solutions.
  • Work with development teams throughout implementation to address technical issues and dependencies.
  • Partner with validation teams to develop test strategies and support issue triage.
  • Investigate system issues using data analysis and structured troubleshooting techniques.
  • Communicate technical decisions and designs effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in robotics, autonomous systems, embedded development, electronic systems, and system integration, with familiarity with C++, Python, Linux, CAN, and Ethernet. Top 3 Skills

Important: This is not a pure C++ software-development role. Candidates should have meaningful experience with robotics/autonomy, embedded systems, electronic hardware, or system integration., * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Work Environment

  • Primarily an onsite office-based engineering environment in Mossville, IL.
  • Some work may be performed in laboratory and system-validation environments.
  • Occasional travel to proving grounds or customer locations may be required., The ideal candidate is an Embedded/Robotics Engineer with strong C++ and Python skills who understands autonomous systems at the vehicle or system level.
