Job description

Vehicle Programs & Engineering (VPE) seeks an experienced Vehicle Systems Engineer to support development of innovative systems into our transportation fleet. The systems engineer will be supporting various Vehicle programs, and will engage with cross-disciplinary teams, vehicle manufacturers, and suppliers to design, integrate, and test solutions. We are looking for a candidate that loves challenges and is able to combine technical, analytical, and operational capabilities to quickly and effectively solve new and complex problems., Lead and execute systems engineering processes across the full product development lifecycle from concept through product launch

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams to support technical reviews and decision-making across multiple development phases including Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, and Integration Readiness Review

Define system and vehicle requirements, specifications, and integration strategies across multiple engineering domains

Support evaluation, development and deliver solutions for complex interdisciplinary system design problems

Lead cross-functional collaborations to ensure integration across diverse teams such as Product, Procurement, Operations, and Safety exceeds customer expectations

Conduct technical risk assessments and failure mode identification

Derive and validate system requirements, acceptance criteria, and performance specifications through system-level and vehicle-level testing

Interpret test results, troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis for both test and in-field failures

Create metrics and monitoring systems to track system performance

Document and communicate product decisions/lessons learned for reuse across teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline
  • Experience in systems engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
