Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Hybrid - Contract

• Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible
• Proven delivery of enterprise-scale Infrastructure-as-Code solutions
• Experience building automation frameworks from the ground up
• Strong Linux administration and enterprise server infrastructure knowledge
• Good understanding of VMware, networking and infrastructure architecture
• Experience automating server provisioning, configuration and lifecycle management
• Ability to automate software deployment, patching, validation and compliance processes
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift and container platforms
• Exposure to Azure and Google Cloud Platform
• Understanding of hybrid-cloud architectures and cloud migration strategies
• Experience integrating infrastructure automation with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong scripting and automation capabilities
• Ability to define technical strategy and lead delivery with minimal supervision
• Experience creating self-service infrastructure or internal developer platforms would be beneficial
• Strong stakeholder management and the confidence to challenge existing processes
• Banking or financial services experience would be advantageous
• Understanding of DORA, operational resilience or regulated infrastructure controls would be beneficial

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on transforming a largely manual infrastructure estate into a scalable, automated Infrastructure-as-Code platform. The successful contractor will define the automation strategy, build greenfield frameworks and establish the standards needed to support self-service provisioning and future cloud adoption.
