Requirements

  • Embedded systems debugging, troubleshooting, and code-testing knowledge using debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or multi-meters\n
  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for testing automation.\n
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle, and good coding practices\n
  • Desire and ability to learn quickly and be part of a world-class team\n
  • Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, branching, and merge conflict resolution.\n
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests.\n
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across hardware and software teams.\n, * Experience with secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC).\n
  • Experience building tailored Linux OSs (we use Yocto and Bitbake) and administering a Linux environment\n
  • Familiar with DevOps concepts, continuous integration, continuous deployment.\n
  • Experience developing secure solutions for embedded electronic RF systems (Radar, Electronic Warfare, Cellular, or other Wireless Technology)\n
  • Experience leading small technical efforts or mentoring juniors engineers is a plus.\n
  • Experience with one or more common embedded communication protocols such as UART, SPI, QSPI, I2C, or TCP/UDP IP.\n
  • Proficiency in systems-level programming, memory management, and concurrency.\n, * Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or equivalent military / industry experience\n

Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).\n \n \nEchodyne is seeking a Software Engineer II, Embedded to design and produce radar equipment subsystems composed of Echodynes industry-leading radars. \n \n In this role, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to create radar systems solutions thought high-performance, secure software solutions.\n \n You will work closely with colleagues to design and build software solutions and contribute to software development practices and continuous improvement within the team. This role requires ownership of assigned software components, solid systems knowledge, and strong embedded SW development mindset. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.\n \n \nRESPONSIBILITIES\n \n \n \n

  • Design, develop, and optimize high-assurance software components using C++.\n
  • Participate in design and code reviews for new and existing systems, provide constructive feedback and contribute to high quality software.\n
  • Contribute to improvements in coding practices, testing and development tools.\n
  • Support testing efforts for your team; collaborate with partner teams as needed.\n
  • Work alongside radar, signal processing, and other software engineers to implement platform functionality to meet specific system control and signal processing needs.\n
