Job description

  • The Solutions Engineer specializing in Business Intelligence, Data Modeling and Data Warehousing is responsible for designing, creating and managing reports, dashboards, system integrations, data models, data warehouses, tools, SSIS packages, ETL processes and related systems used by customers and client’s Professional Services team.
  • The Solutions Engineer works with business users throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements definition, prototyping, development, testing, deployment and support. Projects typically have short timeframes with multiple iterations, combine data from multiple sources, and utilize input from specialists in the areas of statistics, computer science, logistics and industry-related fields such as food science, refrigeration, security and packaging.
  • As the needs of our customers and available business intelligence tools are rapidly evolving, this position provides substantial opportunity to engage in creative problem-solving and rapid prototyping techniques. The Solutions Engineer must seek to continuously improve and broaden their expertise so that the best tools can be applied to a given situation.
  • The Solutions Engineer also supports existing data warehouses, reports, system integrations, SSIS packages and tools, which require periodic maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades to leverage new capabilities. The Solutions Engineer works in a team environment, participates in meetings, proactively addresses issues and completes other tasks as assigned., * Data Architecture & Modeling: Design, implement, and optimize conceptual, logical, and physical data models (Dimensional/Star Schema, Data Vault, or 3NF).
  • ETL/ELT Development: Build, deploy, and orchestrate scalable, automated data pipelines to ingest data from disparate internal and external sources.
  • Warehouse & Mart Management: Develop and maintain enterprise Data Warehouses and specialized Data Marts tailored to specific business units.
  • Report & Dashboard Development: Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and paginated reports for data modeling and operational reporting.
  • Support & Optimization: Monitor daily data loads, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and continuously optimize SQL queries and ETL jobs for maximum performance.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Program Managers, Solutions Engineers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver clean, reliable datasets.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in Data Engineering, Data Development, or a similar role.
  • Data Modeling: Strong proficiency in relational and dimensional data modeling techniques (Fact and Dimension tables).
  • SQL Mastery: Advanced SQL skills, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • ETL Tooling: Hands-on experience with modern ETL tools (e.g. Azure Data Factory).
  • Visualization: Proficient in developing interactive dashboard in Power BI Desktop and paginated reports using PBI Report Builder.
  • Data Warehousing: Experience working with modern cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) or traditional systems (SQL Server).
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML tools or LLM APIs to optimize data pipelines, automate data cleansing/transformation, or enhance predictive data modeling capabilities.
  • Infrastructure: Experience in Azure cloud administration (deploying and managing enterprise solutions).
  • Problem Solving: Strong debugging and support skills to quickly triage and resolve data pipeline interruptions.

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with .NET programming
  • Strong SQL Server skills is a must along with Dynamic SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Experience with predictive analytics and applied statistics
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS
  • Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Able to handle multiple priorities with excellent time management skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with programming languages like Python for data manipulation.
  • Experience deploying and managing Azure infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Experience designing and implementing robust system-to-system integrations (via REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, or middleware)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control (Git).

Schedule: ( Hybrid: Tue, Weds & Thurs onsite) and (Mon & Fri remote) 8-hour workday, flex start/end (between 8am - 6pm)
