Mobile Lead Engineer

The Mobile Lead Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of Kaya’s mobile applications. This role involves architecting scalable mobile solutions, implementing new features, and ensuring high performance and reliability across platforms. The Mobile Lead Engineer collaborates closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate product requirements into robust mobile experiences. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing code, setting technical standards, mentoring mobile developers, and driving best practices in testing, security, and performance optimization. The person in this role will also contribute to roadmap planning, evaluate new technologies, and help align mobile development with overall product and engineering strategy.

The Mobile Lead Engineer will also own the mobile analytics stack end-to-end - instrumenting event tracking, managing subscription and in-app-purchase infrastructure via RevenueCat, and partnering with growth on attribution and activation metrics to drive measurable improvements in user acquisition and retention.

• Strong mobile engineering skills, including experience in Mobile Application Development and building production-grade Mobile Applications (React Native, TypeScript/Node.js backend, Postgres and cloud infrastructure)
• Proficiency in iOS Development and related frameworks, with the ability to design and ship high-quality iOS features.
• Solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Software Development principles, including clean architecture, testing, and code review.
• Experience leading or mentoring mobile engineering teams, setting technical direction, and establishing best practices.
• Hands-on experience with mobile analytics and monetization platforms (RevenueCat, Sentry, PostHog, Amplitude, or similar), including subscription/IAP infrastructure, crash reporting, and event tracking implementation
• Performance marketing and growth engineering experience - attribution tracking (e.g., AppsFlyer, Adjust), SKAdNetwork/App Tracking Transparency, deep linking, and campaign-level ROAS measurement.
• Track record of using analytics to diagnose and improve the full funnel - activation, conversion, retention - and translating product data into actionable engineering priorities
• Familiarity with modern mobile development tools and workflows (e.g., CI/CD, version control, automated testing, monitoring, and analytics).
• Ability to collaborate effectively in remote, cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Background in building data-driven or AI-powered products is a plus, especially in B2B or workflow-heavy environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; relevant industry experience may substitute for formal education.
