This role analyzes network performance, diagnoses and resolves complex issues, and coordinates with internal teams, external agencies, and vendors to ensure seamless mission support. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the specialist manages network infrastructure projects, drives process improvements, and advises leadership on technology enhancements. A constant focus on IT security vigilance is essential to safeguard AF TENCAP’s network integrity and mission-critical communications.\n \n \nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\n \n \n
- Analyze network performance data, interpret fault conditions, and recommend effective solutions to maintain optimal system operations across multiple classification levels.\n
- Manage network administration activities, including configuration, patching, monitoring, and optimization of LAN/WAN infrastructure, encryption devices, and cabling systems.\n
- Oversee troubleshooting and restoration efforts for complex network outages, coordinating with internal teams, external agencies, and vendors to ensure rapid resolution.\n
- Lead network infrastructure projects, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives, ensuring alignment with AF TENCAP’s mission requirements and lifecycle planning.\n
- Assess system performance trends, drive process improvements, and implement best practices for efficiency, security, and reliability.\n
- Coordinate the integration of new network capabilities, ensuring interoperability and compliance with DoD and AF network standards.\n
- Advise leadership on emerging technologies, risk mitigation strategies, and network enhancement opportunities.\n
- Consult with cross-functional IT teams to ensure cohesive, mission-aligned network operations and change management.\n
- Educate stakeholders on network usage, security protocols, and operational best practices.\n
- Maintain constant IT security vigilance, proactively identifying, mitigating, and reporting network threats in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, AF cybersecurity directives, and AFI 17-130.\n
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, making informed decisions to support AF TENCAP’s dynamic mission priorities and ensure network readiness in rapidly changing operational environments.\n
