Job description

Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our IT organization and play a key role in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure. This position will support a complex, geographically distributed environment and will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, performance, and availability of network services across the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on network professional with strong Cisco networking experience and a background supporting enterprise LAN/WAN environments, network security, wireless infrastructure, SD-WAN, and voice technologies. This role we’re looking for someone with OT (Operational Technology) experience. As it relates to Network Engineering in regards to network our manufacturing machinery runs on.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
  • Support and optimize enterprise LAN/WAN and SD-WAN environments.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, routing, switching, wireless, and security issues.
  • Configure and maintain network security technologies and implement industry best practices.
  • Support TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, and other core networking technologies.
  • Support enterprise voice technologies, including VoIP and Cisco CUCM.
  • Implement and maintain network authentication and access-control technologies such as 802.1X.
  • Perform network hardware, firmware, and software upgrades while minimizing business disruption.
  • Participate in network architecture, infrastructure upgrades, and technology implementations.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and equipment inventories.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and other IT teams to resolve technical issues and deliver technology initiatives.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors, telecommunications providers, and service partners.
  • Participate in network-related projects, disaster recovery initiatives, and business continuity planning.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other members of the network and IT teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or a related infrastructure role.
  • Must have Experience with OT (Operational Technology)
  • Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN architecture and enterprise networking.
  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP and OSI networking models.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise network environments.
  • Experience with network security, wireless networking, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and switching.
  • Experience supporting geographically distributed or multi-site environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional IT teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNA, CCNP, or other relevant networking certification.
  • Experience with Cisco CUCM / VoIP.
  • Experience implementing 802.1X / network access control.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management platforms.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or other highly distributed environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
