Job description

This job is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving end-to-end technology solutions for warehousing and logistics operations, with explicit ownership of the WMS technology roadmap. This role drives technology modernization, product-level strategy, and market awareness, ensuring the organization’s WMS capabilities remain competitive, scalable, and aligned with industry trends, customer expectations, and 3PL market dynamics. This role provides architectural leadership, establishes standards and best practices, and ensures alignment of solutions with enterprise direction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Define, govern, and lead the architecture vision, principles, and technology roadmap aligned with enterprise strategy.
  • Design scalable architecture across:

  • WMS, TMS, OMS, YMS, LMS
  • Event-driven, API-based, and EDI integrations
  • Document system architectures, interfaces, feature capabilities, and functional gaps
  • Ensure solutions support multi-client, multi-warehouse, and omni-channel 3PL environments
  • Own and define the WMS technology roadmap, aligned with:

  • Business strategy and growth plans
  • 3PL client needs and operational priorities

  • Translating market insights into clear recommendations
  • Drive continuous improvement based on operational feedback

  • Explore technological trends, including:

  • Cloud-native and SaaS WMS evolution
  • Microservices and composable architecture
  • Identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases across supply chain operations, including forecasting, optimization, and decision support
  • Automation, robotics, and WES/WCS convergence

Lead vendor evaluations, RFPs, and PoCs for WMS and adjacent technologies

Actively participate/lead critical customer demos working closely with Sales and Solution teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Supply Chain Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years in solution architect with strong WMS and global supply chain focus.
  • Experience with SOA, microservices, messaging, databases, large-scale system integration, and agile environments.
  • Proven ability to drive change and enterprise adoption of architecture standards.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Deep Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Global supply chain technology experience across inbound, outbound, inventory, fulfillment, yard, cross-docking, labor, and integrations.
  • Reliability engineering for large-scale warehouse operations (availability, resilience, performance, observability).
  • Ability to bridge operations, engineering, product, and IT teams to improve customer onboarding.
  • Strong partnership with Sales, Operations, solution architects, technical leads, and development teams.
  • Proven leadership of enterprise architecture initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Expertise across WMS, TMS, LMS, ERP, WCS/SCADA, and database platforms.
  • TOGAF or equivalent framework knowledge; ability to translate strategy into roadmaps.
  • Strong governance, documentation, and design pattern acumen.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills., * Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret information.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to sit, walk, or stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Must possess visual acuity to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to conduct physical tasks with a full range of motion throughout the warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds.
