Job description

Our client seeks an Informix-focused developer to support and enhance a homegrown ERP system. The role will emphasize programming in Informix and Genero/4GL with a strong component of shell and Perl scripting. The successful candidate will optimize SQL queries, improve performance, and collaborate within a documented team environment to deliver stable, maintainable solutions aligned with distribution business processes., * Design, develop, and maintain Informix-based application code for a homegrown ERP.

  • Write and optimize SQL queries and perform performance tuning across application components.
  • Develop and maintain shell and Perl scripts to support batch jobs, integrations, and operational tooling.
  • Enhance and maintain Genero/4GL user interfaces and business logic.
  • Document technical designs, code changes, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team and participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement robust fixes.

Requirements

  • Hands-on Informix programming experience, not limited to DBA responsibilities.
  • Recent Informix work within the last five years.
  • Proficiency with Genero or 4GL, with preference for recent usage.
  • Strong shell scripting and Perl experience.
  • SQL proficiency for query development and tuning.
  • Background with ERP or distribution business processes such as order handling.
  • Experience working in collaborative, documented team environments.

Benefits & conditions

Rate: $60.00 to $65.00/hr. w2, Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.

W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pre-tax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.
