Job description
Manage and maintain Linux/Unix servers in a high-security aerospace environment. Implement and automate system administration tasks using shell scripting and Ansible. Perform vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and security compliance per NISPOM and RMF standards. Coordinate hardware repairs, software installations, and patch management for servers and workstations. Administer virtual machines with VMware ESXi and manage NAS/SAN storage environments. Support end-user authentication and access management in mixed Linux environments (NIS/SSSD). Document procedures and maintain Standard Operating Instructions (SOI) for all systems. Work on cutting-edge aerospace projects requiring TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
Requirements
TS/SCI Security Clearance with CI Polygraph required CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8572 qualified certificate (or obtain within 60 days of employment) Experience with Linux or Unix operating systems Install operating system security patches and firmware updates Create and manage security groups Coordinate hardware repair activities Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues Create scripts to automate system administration tasks Create and edit Standard Operating Instructions (SOI) documentation Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR). Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Desired Skills: Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 6 9 Administer virtual machines with VMWare ESXi Perform routine server/workstation patching per guidelines Automation experience using shell scripting and Ansible Install and configure servers and associated hardware/software applications Manage servers in a disconnected environment Experience with vulnerability remediation and security management (system hardening, log management, configuration management tools such as Nessus, Trellix, Splunk, SCAP, HBSS) Backup and disaster recovery implementation for Linux systems Knowledge of NISPOM, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and STIG requirements Manage Linux systems with NAS/SAN attached storage; troubleshoot storage issues Implement and manage end-user authentication in mixed environments (NIS & SSSD preferred) Previous experience with Solaris, AIX, POWER, SPARC systems, Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) to comply with ITAR regulations.
