Job description
We are seeking a Hardware Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team onsite in Folsom. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in analog and digital hardware design, board bring-up, and lab validation and a proven ability to own schematic capture, direct PCB layout, and personally execute board validation and test planning., * Assist with bench tests, board bring-up, and troubleshooting of analog and digital circuits.
- Collaborate daily with software engineers, technicians, and team members in the lab.
- Perform component selection, schematic capture, and direct PCB layout resources, including reviewing and guiding layout.
- Create and review engineering paperwork and generate ECOs for release.
- Develop board validation plans, build test jigs as needed, and perform all validation testing personally.
- Support bring-up and debugging of additional PCBs within the program.
- Analyze datasheets and distill hardware requirements for software/firmware integration, including I2C and SPI expanders and multiplexers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years designing, testing, and debugging electrical hardware at the component level.
- Strong analog and digital design knowledge, including voltage regulators (linear and switching), op-amps, transistors, microcontrollers, high-speed communications, and analog multiplexers.
- Hands-on lab proficiency with oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and function generators with regular usage over career.
- Experience writing specifications, test plans, validation plans, and test reports with clear technical writing.
- Proficiency with schematic capture tools; Cadence preferred.
- Ability to define efficient test approaches from schematics and design custom test fixtures for sub-systems.
- Ability to work from minimal verbal inputs, formalize requirements into documentation, and execute tests to completion.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience directing PCB layout and reviewing for signal integrity, power, and manufacturability.
- Experience with board-level validation of analog designs with significant op-amp content.
