Job description

The EMEA Electrics and Controls department, located at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, is one of the fastest growing departments withing the EMEA Development Centre of Daikin. This department is responsible for development and improvement of controls: room controls, unit controls, App and cloud controls. Part of our work involves:

  • Embedded software development
  • Hardware development
  • Cloud and App development

Throughout the development steps we combine “in house” development and strategic cooperation with external partners to enhance our products, keeping them amongst the best in the industry. As a Software Test Engineer, your eye for bugs and anything that could simply be improved will make you successful in this roll How does your day look like

  • You find, test and report bugs to redesign creative ways for testing and delivering quality that works on required devices, screen solutions and browsers
  • You define test strategies, make test plans and coordinate the execution manual and automatic for Apps, Cloud/PC and embedded
  • You write complex code/scripts to test systems, implementing test harnesses and infrastructure as necessary
  • You influence better software design, promote engineering practise, bug prevention strategies, testability, accessibility, privacy and other advanced quality concepts across products
  • You work closely with project leaders and the development team to build a comprehensive picture of velocity, test coverage through existing or new infrastructure and quality

Requirements

  • You have a relevant Master’s degree
  • You feel a strong match with the Daikin Vision and want to work on innovative products to fight climate change
  • You have experience in:

  • Test methodologies, Test Management Tools and Test Automation
  • ISTQB, Robot Framework, Jenkins, IoT, …
  • Multiple platforms: IOS, Android, Windows and Mac
  • Embedded software
  • You are a strong collaborator who is driven to find solutions for technical requirements and are capable of thinking on a conceptual level
  • You strive for consensus between stakeholders in the project.
