Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our lending team. The ideal candidate will be well experienced in new product development and has a passion for creating new and innovative products and solutions that meet the client’s needs. The ideal candidate will also be someone that is innovative, open to change and strives to deliver high quality code in collaboration with their team. You will be responsible for designing and developing Front End and Back End web architecture, testing your solutions, and ensuring its ongoing responsiveness. What You’ll Do

  • Architect, discuss, design, implement systems within the Scratch ecosystem. From multi-step application processes, to Back End risk assessments, payment processing, public facing API and event-based integrations. There is no limit to what the business needs, and there is no limit to how good our solutions can be, either user facing or Back End tasks.
  • Write clean, maintainable code across our Back End services and Front End components, contributing directly to key projects that support the lending business and third-party integrations.
  • Contribute to the overall quality and test coverage, ensuring all features are tested end-to-end.
  • Grow and improve the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews as a key member of the agile team, and proactively surface potential blockers or architectural issues.
  • Take ownership of incident response and debugging for your code and shared services, and participate in post-mortem reviews.
  • Stay current on best practices and industry trends, and bring a continuous improvement mindset to code quality, architecture, and team collaboration.
  • Translate product requirements and specifications into implementation plans and working code, with a focus on high-quality development, automated test coverage and leveraging AI-assisted development.

Requirements

  • Availability: we are accepting candidates from UTC-3 to UTC-8 timezones
  • Fluency in English is a must
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, with strong Back End skills using Node.js + TypeScript and experience developing RESTful APIs.
  • Frontend experience using React, and proficiency with fundamental Front End languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Practical knowledge of SQL and NoSQL Databases, like MySQL, PostegreSQL, Firestore, Redis etc.
  • Experience working in domain-based monorepos that house and independently deploy multiple Back End services.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure best practices (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes are a plus).
  • Ability to switch between languages and frameworks
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum processes
  • Comfortable navigating a fast-paced startup environment and collaborating cross-functionally with product and engineering stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, clear communication, and a proactive attitude toward taking initiative and delivering results.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Experience in PHP and/or Golang
  • Experience in risk modeling and underwriting processes
  • Experience in building payment processing solutions.
  • Experience in ML models.
  • Experience in QA tooling, like Playwright, Cypress or Selenium
