Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing catastrophe models to accurately assess and quantify the risk and profitability of the Property Cat reinsurance portfolio. You will participate in the reinsurance placement and renewal process and partner closely with the actuarial pricing team, providing crucial insights to support underwriting and management decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of reinsurance principles, catastrophe modeling software, and statistical analysis.

- Data Preparation & Validation: Prepare, validate, and quality-assure exposure data for input into catastrophe models, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Model Execution & Interpretation: Execute catastrophe models, interpret results (e.g., exceedance probability curves, average annual loss, return periods), and identify key risk drivers.
- Portfolio Management: Contribute to the management of the reinsurance portfolio by providing risk assessments and insights to underwriters.
- Scenario Development: Develop and analyze custom scenarios to assess potential impacts of specific events or changes in exposure.
- Model Validation & Development: Participate in the validation and enhancement of catastrophe models, including model parameterization and calibration.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing model results and communicate findings to underwriters, management, and other stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with underwriters, actuaries, and other departments to provide comprehensive risk assessments.
