Job description

We’re seeking a highly skilled Consulting GIS Analyst (CGA) to support ODOT’s Office of Data Governance, building and maintaining GIS applications for transportation asset management and data governance programs., * Develop and support GIS-based data collection applications - creating feature classes, related tables, publishing map services, building web mapping applications, testing, troubleshooting, and customer support

  • Support enterprise GIS implementation - feature classes, web mapping applications, metadata creation, customer support
  • Provide direct support for CADD/GIS software and hardware systems
  • Perform software testing and routine maintenance
  • Create dashboards using analytic BI and geospatial tools
  • Assist with phone/online problem reporting and maintain problem report records
  • Maintain data backups, archives, and support data retrieval
  • Monitor system status and data integrity
  • Support Python scripting initiatives
  • Support Data Governance project activities as assigned
  • Develop data models and Technical Requirements Specifications documents

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study
  • 5+ years ArcGIS for Desktop experience
  • 3+ years editing and maintaining data in a GIS environment
  • 1+ years Python (or similar scripting) experience - ArcPy knowledge a plus
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal
  • Ability to collaborate across business and functional lines
  • Strong meeting and work session facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong time management
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot with minimal supervision
  • Ability to translate business needs into ODOT’s GIS systems

Nice to Have:

  • Microsoft Power BI experience
  • ArcGIS Field Maps
  • ArcServer
