Job description

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position., * This position supports the ongoing development and administration of the My UND App. Work may include managing app content, improving the user experience, testing features, researching mobile app best practices, supporting campus maps and wayfinding initiatives, and developing custom widgets/XModules and integrations as needed. The position works both independently and collaboratively with campus partners.

  • Add and maintain student organization content
  • Expand college and department content using existing templates
  • Improve the visual design, usability, and overall student experience
  • Support campus maps, wayfinding, and navigation initiatives
  • Test new features and gather user feedback
  • Research ideas and best practices from other university mobile apps
  • Assist with custom widgets/XModules and integrations, including weather, maps, campus resources, and other services

Requirements

  • Training will be provided for the My UND App platform and related tools.
  • Required experience does not necessarily need to be from a workplace environment.
  • Students in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Graphic Design, Communications, or related areas may be a good fit; however, a specific major is not required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current University of North Dakota student
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in application development, mobile user experiences, or digital campus services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience with Node.js, REST APIs, JSON, or data integration concepts
  • Experience with Azure App Services, Azure Functions, or similar cloud services
  • Basic UI/UX knowledge or experience designing user interfaces
  • Experience with Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar design tools
  • Experience with content management or creating digital and interactive content
  • Experience with mapping, GIS, Concept3D, ArcGIS, or similar platforms
  • Interest in student engagement, campus services, navigation, and wayfinding, Adobe Creative Suite, Application Programming Interface (API), ArcGIS, Background Investigation, Best Practices, CSS (Cascading Style Sheet), Career Counseling, Cloud Computing, Communication Skills, Computer Science, Content Management, Customer/Client Research, Graphic Design, HTML (HyperText Markup Language), Identify Issues, JSON, JavaScript, Microsoft Windows Azure, Mobile Applications, Mobile Applications Development, Node.js, Organizational Skills, Presentation/Verbal Skills, Problem Solving Skills, REST (Representational State Transfer), Requirements Management, Spatial Data, Systems Engineering, Team Player, Usability Engineering, User Interface Design, User Interface/Experience (UI/UX), Writing Skills
