Job description

This role serves as the SAP QA Lead, responsible for driving quality assurance across

FS-CD, FS-RI, SAP Business Partner (BP), Workflow, and FI-GL modules. The position

oversees a blended onshore/offshore team and advances test automation strategies to

improve speed, coverage, and reliability. Ideal candidates bring deep SAP module

expertise and Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain knowledge, translating

business requirements into risk-based QA approaches. Key priorities include expanding

automation frameworks, establishing measurable QA standards, and collaborating with

stakeholders to align testing with end-to-end processes and integrations (including

Guidewire and other upstream systems). Although this is a lead role, hands-on

involvement is expected to meet delivery commitments within a small-team

environment.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

o Proactively ensure that the delivered product is of excellent quality by

implementing rigorous testing practices.

o Establish quality standards and best practices to minimize the likelihood of

defects being identified by end users.

  • Team Leadership:

o Lead and mentor a geographically distributed QA team (onshore and

offshore) that emphasized accountability, collaboration, and continuous

improvement.

  • Test Automation Strategy:

o Design and execute an automation roadmap that scales test coverage

without increasing headcount.

coverage across SAP modules and integrations.

o Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to

align testing efforts with business requirements.

  • Test Case Development and Execution:

o Design, develop, and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-

structured test plans and test cases.

o Review test cases created by team members to ensure alignment with

business goals and functionality requirements.

o Execute test cases and analyze results to identify issues and ensure high-

quality deliverables.

  • Thorough Documentation and UAT Support:

o Document test case results thoroughly, including detailed descriptions of

testing scenarios, steps, and outcomes.

o Present test case results to user acceptance testers (UAT) to build

confidence in the quality assurance process and testing efforts.

o Reduce the amount of additional testing required during UAT by providing

clear evidence of comprehensive testing coverage.

  • Defect Management:

o Proactively identify, document, and track software defects, ensuring timely

resolution by collaborating with development teams.

o Perform root cause analysis of defects and recommend improvements to

avoid recurrence.

  • Project Collaboration and Communication:

o Serve as the primary point of contact for QA-related activities within

projects, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.

o Collaborate with development, product management, and operations

teams to establish realistic timelines for testing and delivery.

  • Process Improvement:

o Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, tools, and

methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

o Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in software

testing and quality assurance.

  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

o Conduct risk assessments to identify potential quality issues and prioritize

testing efforts accordingly.

o Ensure that potential risks are communicated to stakeholders with

actionable mitigation plans.

  • Metrics and Reporting:

o Define and track key QA metrics, such as defect density, test coverage,

and automation progress.

o Provide regular reports to stakeholders on testing progress, quality

metrics, and defect status.

o Team and individual metrics are to be reported on a monthly basis.

  • Resource Planning and Allocation:

o Efficiently allocate resources across onshore and offshore teams to

maximize productivity and meet project deadlines.

o Identify skill gaps within the team and provide training or development

opportunities to address them.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

o Act as an advocate for quality within the organization, ensuring that QA

priorities are represented in decision-making.

o Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to review testing strategies
