Slalom Flex (Project-Based) Sr. Data Engineer/ Architect

We’re seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to support and modernize enterprise data pipelines. This role combines pipeline development, production support, and AI-assisted engineering within a modern cloud environment. You’ll own the design, development, troubleshooting, and enhancement of critical data workflows while leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop and support Informatica-based data integration workflows.
• Design scalable data solutions and data models.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure pipeline reliability.
• Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate development, testing, and support.
• Follow CI/CD, version control, and engineering best practices.
• Participate in a light on-call rotation for Sev 2+ pipeline incidents (approximately once every 5-6 weeks).

• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language.
• Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Informatica (PowerCenter, IICS, or similar).
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
• Familiarity with Airflow or comparable orchestration tools.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Spark or other distributed processing frameworks.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with DevOps and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
