Job description

The Cybersecurity Solution Architect is responsible for working in close collaboration with a team of experienced cybersecurity and IT professionals to implement design principles of security architecture within projects and processes of Entergy’s cybersecurity towers. The Cybersecurity Solutions Architect Sr. also designs and implements cybersecurity solutions for assigned work efforts. This Solutions Architect is responsible for reviewing and documenting the security requirements, design decisions, risks, and mitigations for each system and application pertaining to Entergy’s cybersecurity towers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

1.

This role focuses on cybersecurity, application security, cloud technologies, and network management, requiring 1-3 years of relevant experience.

2.

This role will assist in managing system security and ensuring compliance with industry best practices

3.

Collaborate with members of Cybersecurity towers and Enterprise Cybersecurity Architecture team to integrate security seamlessly into projects and processes, protecting information systems.

4.

While Enterprise architects define the overarching Cybersecurity strategy and standards, Solution Architect will design specific solutions within that framework for a given cybersecurity tower. They bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring that solutions are strategically aligned, well-designed, and technically sound.

5.

Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to cybersecurity challenges.

6.

Liaise between the Enterprise Cybersecurity Architects, vendors, project management and the technical team on questions, issues, and revisions to the solution architecture.

7.

Creation of procedures and work instructions.

8.

Provides and documents all requirements for projects within the team’s tower.

9.

Provides operational support to the teams within the team’s tower.

10.

Partner with business SMEs to capture, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into operational work products (e.g., use cases, functional specs) to be used by the assigned cybersecurity tower & development teams.

11.

Responsible for developing and maintaining traceability of functional and non-functional specifications to business requirements, objectives, and processes.

12.

Responsible for ensuring that the work products are comprehensive for transition to the development teams for detailed design and to the Quality Assurance team for the creation of test scripts.

Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum experience required of the position

3 - 5 years of experience working with cybersecurity technology and how it supports the business.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Deep understanding and practical experience of industry recognized cybersecurity solutions. Wide experience in developing customer-centric solutions. Working knowledge in all areas of cybersecurity (Identity & Access Management, SecOps, Network security, Security Engineering). Planning experience, especially the design of longer term strategies. Ability to communicate and present effectively with all levels in the organization, including executive management. Excellent interpersonal communications skills. Excellent writing and presentation skills. Working knowledge of cybersecurity architecture concepts and the ability to integrate business needs and security technology capabilities.
