Job description

We are looking for a Scrum Master to enable Agile teams to deliver the highest business value to customers through effective Scrum practices, coaching, facilitation, and continuous improvement. The Scrum Master will coach and support teams and leadership, facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, manage dependencies, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This position will be a contract and remote .

Due to the specific legal and contractual requirements associated with this position, this role will be direct employment with CAI. This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide Agile training, mentoring, and coaching to Scrum teams and leadership to support adoption and continuous improvement of Scrum principles and practices

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives

  • Guide teams in becoming self-organizing, cross-functional, and accountable while maintaining focus on Sprint goals and objectives

  • Assist with backlog management, dependency tracking, risk mitigation, release planning, and stakeholder coordination

  • Identify, communicate, resolve, or escalate impediments and issues impacting team delivery

  • Protect teams from distractions and unplanned work that could impact Sprint commitments

  • Utilize Agile tools, metrics, and reporting to monitor team progress and delivery performance

  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and help teams prioritize and execute process enhancements

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, architecture, quality assurance, and vendor partners to support successful project delivery

  • Promote Agile best practices and help stakeholders understand effective interactions with Scrum teams

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Management, or a related field

  • 5-7+ years of overall IT experience

  • 3-5+ years of Scrum Master experience working in Agile environments

  • Experience working with teams utilizing COBOL/Mainframe development

  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and XP

  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and driving team accountability

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience with backlog management, dependency management, risk mitigation, release planning, and impediment resolution

  • Ability to coach teams and leaders on Agile adoption and continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Understanding of change management principles

  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback

Preferred:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I), or similar Scrum certification

  • Experience supporting Agile delivery teams within healthcare data and integration environments

  • Healthcare industry experience

  • Leadership potential with a coachable mindset and desire for growth

  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to motivate, encourage, and empower team members

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across business, technology, and vendor organizations

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

Benefits & conditions

$50-$53 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
