AI Architect for SAP

This is a leadership role within the Client Enterprise Solutions Unit (ESU) involving proactive value creation, digital innovation, and enterprise transformation for global clients. We are seeking an experienced AI Architect specializing in SAP ecosystems to define AI strategy, architect intelligent business solutions, and drive enterprise-scale AI adoption across SAP landscapes.

The architect will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative AI-powered business capabilities leveraging SAP business processes while utilizing SAP and non-SAP AI platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Generative AI, Agentic AI, Enterprise AI Architecture, Data Platforms, and AI Governance while understanding complex SAP environments including S/4HANA, ECC, BTP, SuccessFactors, Ariba, IBP, Datasphere, and SAP Business Network.

The role requires the ability to identify business transformation opportunities and architect solutions using leading AI platforms such as Microsoft Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, Databricks Mosaic AI, NVIDIA AI, Anthropic Claude, and other enterprise AI technologies integrated with SAP systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Enterprise Architecture

• Define enterprise AI strategy for SAP-led transformation programs.
• Establish AI architecture principles, governance standards, and adoption frameworks.
• Create enterprise AI roadmaps aligned with business outcomes and transformation objectives.
• Advise CXOs and business leaders on AI-driven operating models and intelligent enterprise initiatives.
• Define AI reference architectures, reusable accelerators, and implementation patterns.

SAP AI Solution Architecture

• Design AI-enabled business processes across:

o SAP S/4HANA

o SAP BTP

o SAP SuccessFactors

o SAP Ariba

o SAP IBP

o SAP EWM

o SAP Datasphere

o SAP SAC

• Architect embedded, side-by-side, and standalone AI solutions for SAP landscapes.
• Design AI-enabled user experiences integrated into SAP Fiori and enterprise workflows.
• Define event-driven AI architectures integrated with SAP business events.

Non-SAP AI Platform Integration

• Lead solution architecture leveraging:

o Microsoft Azure AI Services

o Azure OpenAI

o OpenAI GPT Models

o Google Vertex AI

o AWS Bedrock

o Anthropic Claude

o Databricks Mosaic AI

o NVIDIA AI Enterprise

o Hugging Face Ecosystem

• Design integration patterns between SAP systems and external AI platforms.
• Establish API, agent, and orchestration frameworks connecting AI services with SAP business applications.
• Define enterprise architecture for multi-model and multi-platform AI deployments.

Agentic AI Architecture

• Design autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents supporting SAP business processes.
• Architect digital workforce solutions for:

o Finance

o Supply Chain

o Procurement

o Manufacturing

o HR

o Customer Service

• Establish agent orchestration, decision frameworks, and governance models.
• Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures leveraging SAP and enterprise data sources.

Data & AI Engineering

• Define enterprise data architecture supporting AI initiatives.
• Design AI-ready data foundations leveraging:

o SAP Datasphere

o SAP HANA Cloud

o Databricks

o Snowflake

o Azure Data Platform

• Define semantic layer, vector databases, knowledge graphs, and AI data pipelines.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, and observability standards.

AI Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Establish Responsible AI framework and governance controls.
• Define AI security, privacy, explainability, and compliance models.
• Lead risk assessments for AI implementations.
• Define monitoring and model lifecycle management strategies.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Mentor architects, consultants, and technical teams on enterprise AI adoption.
• Conduct architecture governance reviews and solution quality assessments.
• Collaborate with SAP functional teams, business stakeholders, hyperscalers, and AI platform vendors.
• Lead executive workshops, innovation sessions, and AI strategy discussions.

Presales & Innovation

• Support AI opportunity identification, solutioning, and proposal development.
• Create value realization frameworks and business cases for AI investments.
• Participate in client innovation programs and executive advisory engagements.
• Drive development of AI accelerators, assets, and reusable industry solutions.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related discipline.
• 15+ years of enterprise technology architecture experience.
• 10+ years of SAP architecture and transformation experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing AI and Machine Learning solutions.
• Strong understanding of SAP business processes and enterprise architecture.
• Proven experience integrating enterprise AI platforms with SAP applications.
• Experience architecting Generative AI, Agentic AI, and RAG solutions.
• Experience with enterprise-scale AI governance and security frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
