Job description

We are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to support a mission-critical federal program based in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on designing and maintaining scalable data and search architectures, with a strong emphasis on Elasticsearch/OpenSearch environments and AWS cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building, configuring, and supporting large-scale search clusters, along with a strong understanding of system performance, monitoring, and data indexing strategies. This position plays a key role in supporting enterprise-level data platforms and ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performance solutions., * Design, build, and maintain Elasticsearch/OpenSearch clusters in production environments

Configure and optimize cluster performance, indexing strategies, and data ingestion pipelines
Perform cluster backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations
Monitor cluster health, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement improvements
Support integration of search platforms within AWS environments, including load balancing and scalability
Configure and manage AWS Application Load Balancers (ALB) for distributed systems
Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
Provide technical guidance on system architecture, performance tuning, and operational best practices
Support data-driven applications by ensuring reliable and performant search capabilities
Document system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures

Requirements

Active Top Secret clearance (TS) or higher
5-7 years of experience working with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch
Hands-on experience standing up, configuring, and administering search clusters
Experience performing backups, restores, and cluster recovery operations
Strong experience with cluster monitoring, indexing, and performance tuning
Solid experience working within AWS environments, including core services and infrastructure
Experience configuring and managing AWS Application Load Balancers (ALBs)
Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and implement reliable solutions
Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical teams, * Experience with Java development or integration with Java-based systems
Background supporting federal or classified environments
Familiarity with large-scale data systems, analytics platforms, or search-driven applications
Experience supporting highly available, distributed systems
