The Internet Technologies Operations Team is looking for a passionate and experienced Release Engineer that can help drive the delivery of some of the most popular Apps at Apple: Messages, FaceTime and Phone. As an engineer on this team, you will be directly responsible for beginning the process that delivers Apple Software to millions worldwide. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with experience using Continuous Integration systems and a passion for automation and software development processes. You will help develop tools to improve the productivity of the development and quality teams as well as collaborate with others at Apple to drive and improve the integration and release process. You should have a desire to write tools and, Every day, millions of people connect via Messages, expressing and sharing with the people who matter most to them in many different ways. We are constantly adding new communication tools for iMessage, all with end-to-end encryption for both individual and group conversations. Requirements

  • Expertise with SCM systems (git preferred), release engineering, branching strategies, pull requests, git workflows
  • Expertise with scripting languages like Python, Go, Bash, JavaScript The ability to adapt quickly to new technical environments and resolve sophisticated problems
  • Expertise working with engineering and project management teams, which requires strong communication and coordination skills
  • Experience with Unix/Terminal/Command Line/Bash, * Ability to propose changes and improvements, and communicate system status automatically and efficiently in ways that incentivize process improvement.
  • Expertise in configuration management for deploying, configuring, and managing servers and systems.
  • Experience with databases (SQL, Non-rel)
  • Expertise with continuous integration systems (ex. Jenkins)
  • Familiarity with highly scalable distributed systems, parallel workflows and microservices.
  • Specific experience defining and driving data structures, APIs, or persistence layers for communication features
