Job description

We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support and lead product qualification efforts within the aerospace industry. This role will be responsible for developing formal test plans and procedures, coordinating qualification testing, conducting internal risk-reduction testing, and overseeing testing at certified external laboratories.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with EMI/EMC, electrical power quality, environmental testing, and aerospace qualification standards , along with the ability to analyze test data and prepare detailed qualification reports for customers and management., * Develop detailed test plans and procedures in accordance with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461 requirements.

  • Define required test equipment and support hardware, including wiring harnesses, electrical interfaces, vibration fixtures, instrumentation, and test setup diagrams.
  • Plan, conduct, and evaluate internal risk-reduction testing.
  • Coordinate and conduct qualification testing at certified external laboratories.
  • Collect, analyze, and organize test data and prepare comprehensive Qualification Test Reports .
  • Provide regular testing status updates to Engineering and Program Management teams.
  • Coordinate testing schedules with external laboratories and manage customer test witnessing.
  • Supervise testing activities at external laboratories while maintaining accurate and detailed test activity logs.
  • Configure and troubleshoot complex EMI and environmental test setups.
  • Support hands-on test fixture assembly, wiring, soldering, and hardware preparation as required.

Requirements

  • Expert-level experience operating test equipment such as:
  • Spectrum analyzers and EMI receivers
  • Programmable power-quality supplies
  • Pin injection generators
  • Data acquisition/data logging equipment
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Digital multimeters (DMMs)
  • Strong understanding of EMI/EMC testing principles , including:
  • Conducted emissions
  • Radiated emissions
  • RF susceptibility/immunity
  • Pin injection testing
  • Practical knowledge of EMI/RF test hardware, including rod, biconical, double-ridged horn, and magnetic-loop antennas.
  • Experience with injection transformers and coupling hardware used for conducted susceptibility testing.
  • Ability to configure and operate complex test environments, including semi-anechoic chambers, thermal chambers, and vibration shakers .
  • Familiarity with automated EMC test software such as TILE, EMC32, or LabWindows/CVI is highly desirable.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, including wire crimping, soldering, wiring, and test fixture assembly ., * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant test engineering experience.
  • Aerospace, defense, electronics, or other highly regulated testing experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with aerospace qualification and environmental testing standards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with engineering, program management, customers, and external testing laboratories.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to work within a production and laboratory environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to walk and move throughout the production and testing facility.

Pay Details: $38.00 to $45.00 per hour
