Junior Security Operations Analyst

• Monitoring of systems for security alerts, intrusions, or activity considered unauthorized, unexpected, or illicit.
• Responding to incidents, utilizing a catalogue of playbooks.
• Escalation of complex incidents to Tier 2 Incident Response teams.
• Review and develop existing security controls in line with a constantly growing technical environment.
• Triage and review vulnerability scanning reports, feeding results back into technical teams.
• Review secure configurations and provide feedback to technical teams for remediations.
• Generate recurring service and security reports for key stakeholders.
• Provide service improvement ideas to the SOC Manager.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest security threats and trends.
• Research and develop understanding of security as a discipline.
• Shifts throughout 24/7 SOC service delivery.

• No corporate experience mandatory, but suitable qualifications preferred in Cyber Security or related technical roles.
• Relevant qualification(s) in Cyber Security, or other related technical areas.
• Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Networking, etc. Professional qualifications from organisations such as CompTIA, etc. (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
• Technical qualifications in security and technology such as cloud computing, SIEM, Vulnerability Scanning/Management.
• Understanding of key concepts such as Cloud Computing, Security Incident Management, Information Security (CIA), Phishing, Ransomware and other key threats.
• Experience with IDAM (Identity and Access Management), JML (Joiners, Movers and Leavers processes).
• Security awareness and related best practices., Due to the secure nature of the position and working environment, you must have, or be eligible to obtain, UK Security Clearance. More details relating to UK Security Clearance can be found at GOV.UK.
