Job description
We are looking for a C#, .Net Developer to join our technology team in support of a growing alternative investment platform. You will own development across front- and back-office workflows-from order management and risk systems to reporting and automation-while helping modernize a mature, production-critical environment toward cloud-based infrastructure.
This role is ideal for a self-directed developer who thrives in a lean team, takes ownership of full-stack problems, and can navigate both greenfield development and legacy system maintenance with equal confidence.
Major Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain applications supporting fund operations including portfolio management, order management, risk, and back-office workflows.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-tested, production-ready features.
- Lead and contribute to system modernization initiatives, migrating on-premises workloads toward Azure PaaS and improving performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application errors and job execution failures, minimizing disruption to business operations.
- Integrate with third-party data providers, APIs, and financial platforms through REST, FIX, and file-based interfaces.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and cloud deployment practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 7-10 years of software development experience in financial services.
- Professional Attributes
- Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills; able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Track record of diagnosing and resolving complex issues under time pressure.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working within small, cross-functional teams.
Core Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in C#, ADO.NET, Entity Framework, and WCF for maintaining and extending existing enterprise applications.
- Strong working knowledge for scripting, automation, and data processing tasks.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and ReactJS for building and maintaining internal user interfaces.
- Advanced T-SQL (MS SQL Server) including stored procedures, query optimization, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with SSIS, SSRS, ETL processes, and data formats including JSON and XML.
- Experience with REST APIs, socket programming, and Node.js.
- Proficient with Visual Studio, VSCode, and Excel.
- Active use of AI coding tools (e.g., Copilot & Claude) as part of a modern development workflow.
DevOps & Version Control
- Experience with Git and Azure DevOps for source control and CI/CD.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, PaaS, and cloud-based deployment strategies.
- Familiarity with legacy version control systems (SVN, TFS), a plus for transition contexts.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with financial markets, instruments, and FIX Protocol.
- Azure cloud deployment experience, including App Service, Azure Functions, or serverless architectures.
- Experience with VB.NET for legacy codebase maintenance.
- Proficiency with PowerShell for scripting and automation.
- Experience with DevExpress UI controls, Active-Batch job scheduling, PGP encryption, or SFTP workflows.
- Python packaging and dependency management using modern tooling (e.g., UV).
