Job description

Amazon Finance Transformation team leads innovation to combine existing data and systems in the finance domain with new customer facing software layer, accuracy driven AI approach, next-gen forecasting capabilities, speed, efficiency, and reliability by exploring new techniques in ML and AI and combining them with full stack services in AWS. This Finance builders team will lead Finance Application Architecture, designs for automating decks, predicting outcomes, automation financial workflows, forecasting values with high degree of automation and ML Ops for existing engineering pipelines and frameworks.

As an Software Engineer, you will own components of newly developed finance systems. You will design and develop these components using AI builder tools, AWS and serverless infrastructure, putting high pressure on human in a loop and quality of produced code. You will work on completely new platform for finance reporting, combining automation of manual workflows with capabilities of Agentic AI systems.

You will engage with a group of senior developers to deliver front end and backend solutions with GenAI-assisted software development builder tools and workflows to generate & optimize code, build tests and infrastructure.

Key job responsibilities

Initially you will focus mostly on the delivery of our strategic platform for Finance Reporting. You will work with other engineers to execute the product and technology vision, raising the bar in the org for software quality. You will be expected to work with full technology stack, starting with big data, but putting more focus on server side, UI and responsibly utilizing AI to bring value to our customers.

Over time you will gain the opportunities to drive the designs and long term solutions for the team and organization, expanding your scope to multiple applications, including AI native ones. You will contribute to long term vision, cooperating with product and tech teams to come up with consistent vision for multiple teams in the organization.

A day in the life

As a Software Development Engineer, you will work with a team of talented engineers to build solutions for frontend and backend as well as identify and evaluate new technology options for the automation challenges we are trying to solve. You will explore potential AI driven solutions, fitting in very demanding domain of Finance Reporting.

You will work with a variety of core languages, microservices, and technologies including Java, Typescript, Python, Dynamo DB, Serverless RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS and multiple other AWS services.

We are looking for a smart engineer who can effectively deal with domain complexity, work independently to clarify requirements, build prototypes and deliver results quickly, while adhering to team quality bar.

Requirements

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
