Job description

The Cloud and Platform Ecosystems organization sits within the Core Platforms department and is responsible for building and operating the cloud and platform capabilities that enable Booking.com’s engineering teams to build, deploy, and run software safely, reliably, and efficiently at scale. The organization is driving a multi-year journey to modernize our production infrastructure and migrate workloads to the cloud.

The Cloud Product team provides product leadership for the Cloud and Platform Ecosystems organization. We partner closely with engineering, security & compliance, reliability, FinOps, and internal developer customers to define product strategy, prioritize investments, and ensure our cloud and platform capabilities deliver measurable business outcomes., We are now looking for a Technology Product Manager to join the Cloud Product team in Amsterdam and help drive our initiative to leverage GenAI for cloud infrastructure management.

Today, creating and changing infrastructure often requires engineers to understand multiple platform abstractions, policy requirements, templates, review processes, and operational constraints. As our cloud footprint increases and AI-assisted software development accelerates, this platform friction risks becoming a bottleneck for delivery.

In response, we have launched the Infrastructure-as-Intent initiative that aims to use GenAI to radically reduce the toil, cognitive load, and lead time involved in provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure at Booking.com. Our goal is to develop an AI-native infrastructure control plane that helps users express what they need in natural language, maps that intent to structured specifications and platform blueprints, validates it against deterministic policy guardrails, and manages the lifecycle of compliant cloud infrastructure.

As a Technology Product Manager, you will be accountable for the business outcomes of a product area within this initiative. Depending on the area, this may include AI-assisted infrastructure composition, platform contracts, policy authoring and validation, blueprint libraries, remediation workflows, cloud guardrails, or developer experience.

This is an individual contributor role without people management responsibilities. You will lead through influence and partner closely with engineering managers, senior and principal engineers, platform teams, security, reliability, FinOps, compliance, and internal developer customers., * Own the strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for your product area.

  • Deeply understand internal customer needs and translate them into clear product requirements.
  • Prioritize the highest-impact problems across user value, technical complexity, governance, and operational risk.
  • Partner closely with engineering managers and technical leads to shape delivery and make pragmatic trade-offs.
  • Help define how GenAI can safely simplify infrastructure workflows while deterministic guardrails preserve security, reliability, compliance, and cost control.
  • Drive adoption with internal customers, measure product impact, and iterate based on feedback and data.
  • Communicate product direction, progress, risks, and decisions clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

3+ years of relevant experience in product management, technical program management, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, or a related technical domain.

  • Strong technical fluency across cloud infrastructure, platform abstractions, APIs, automation, software delivery workflows, and non-functional requirements.
  • Good understanding of modern cloud concepts such as compute, storage, networking, databases, IAM, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and operational guardrails.
  • Good judgment about where GenAI can accelerate workflows, and where deterministic systems, human approval, or policy enforcement are required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn ambiguity into clear product direction.
  • Excellent communication skills with engineering, product, security, compliance, leadership, and internal customer audiences.
  • Ability to influence without authority in a complex, cross-functional environment.
  • Data fluency: able to define success metrics, interpret adoption data, and combine qualitative and quantitative insights.
